![]() ![]() You have to pay $5 a day to plug into their internet, and be prepared to move furniture in order to access the plug. BRING A CORD or you will be charged $5 a day to rent one. We are here on business, for a conference, and we need internet. I have stayed at Super 8s with far better entertainment choices. Then, if you want to watch tv again, you have to call the man to come change it back! Why not set one up for movies and the other for tv? Good idea, except the living room tv doesn't get movies. Regarding the tv situation: IWhat is the point of a plasma tv when you only offer 8 channels? And here's the most primitive, outrageous thing I've seen in a long time: In order to get movies on your tv, you have to ACTUALLY CALL A MAN TO COME CHANGE THE CONNECTION SO YOU CAN WATCH MOVIES. The bedroom is comfortable and has a flat screen tv. The bathroom is large and clean, and they provide Bath and Body soaps, lotions, and shampoos. We have a big living room area with a desk and tv armoire. The rooms are very spacious - I think it may be an all-suite hotel- and ours has a refrigerator, sink, microwave., counter with two stools No dishes or flatware, though, which is a bit odd. The breakfast buffet isn't cheap, but it was varied and good. The airport noise is alot less than one would expect - in fact, the hotel was very quiet. There are far better places than this.įirst, the good aspects of the hotel: The grounds are pretty, with 3 pools and nice landscaping. Despite the heat, don't count on swimming in the pool. But people could sit in chairs around the pool. The "closed" sign was up the entire time we were there. Oh yes, despite the very large conference with hundreds of guests staying at the hotel, the pool was never open. I could go on and on, but in short, this hotel has problems, is in need of some refurbishing (sidewalk paint peeling, etc.) And if you get a room waaaay in one of the back buildings, pack a lunch as it's a long walk, a very long walk, to the front of the hotel and the street. Really strange place run by a staff oblivious of the need for customer service or comfort. Also, there's some second restaurant tucked way in the back somewhere, but most people don't know about it or see any signs to it. Food was OK, but overpriced, and the prices at the bar were beyond unreasonable. Sometimes it was too hot, and other times, we froze (same with the water coming out of the faucets). The thermostat in our room had a mind of its own and disregarded whatever we set it to. (No way anyone would know that it's necessary to ask the waitress.) Getting around the conference rooms is a nightmare of logistics as they don't all connect and require people to leave one section, go through the lobby, out onto the sidewalk surrounding the hotel, and then enter the other group of conference rooms (also barren, but freezing as someone had set the thermostats to 62!). Some people didn't realize toast was an option. Oh yes, on the buffet, there are sweet rolls, but if you want toast, you have to ask a waitress for it. She did, and the other waitress never appeared near our table to see if we had gotten coffee. She replied that the other one often forgot requests but that she'd see to our request for toast. On a previous morning, a second waitress came to our table to ask about coffee or tea, and we told her that the other waitress had taken our order. So, don't count on the buffet either! The one waitress there was incredibly harried. But the management had decided that morning (without telling guests) that there weren't enough people, so they did not open the buffet. When we entered the breakfast room, a group of about 15-20 men came in before us, obviously hoping to hurry through breakfast. We stayed on for a day after most of the conference goers left, though there were other guests who were at the hotel. Apparently, they expect people to put that on the floor too. Oh yes, the shower has NO shelf for soap and shampoo. Also, someone who previously occupied our room apparently wore a sequined outfit as there were sequins all over the place, including between tiles in the bathroom. The manager told me that there's been some software problem with the phone and they will eventually fix it. One night, I had a question and called the hotel front desk, using the button marked "hotel front desk." I kept getting the busy signal and eventually had to walk out to the reception area. ![]() And no guide to the TV stations, no hotel booklet with nearby restaurants, maps, etc. There was one luggage rack (and not much room for another), so one of us had to keep our suitcase on the floor. While there were two floors, the bedroom upstairs had no tables or drawers to put clothing in. The conference rate was reasonable, but while our room was large, it was barren and empty feeling. We were there for a conference at the hotel. ![]()
